I think you can join every race apart from the events which take place at the Rockingham track.

To join you just have to join the server on time. You can find the password for the server below this chatbox.

Good luck!

Few Survivors at Westhill
youliftyoulose, Tuesday, July 10 2012 - 04:55:44 // comment: 6

The 2nd race with the BF1 in the F1 series took place at Westhill. 17 drivers showed up to qualify on the smooth flowing track. A large
percentage of the time is spent at full throttle leaving little margin for error. A wheel placed on the grass would be very unforgiving
as many of the drivers would find out. Newcomer EliteAti set the pace with a tire melting 1:10.29, almost a full half second in front
of Mazdarati, Black and Duck Tape who were all in the 1:10’s. In a pre race interview, Mazdarati was overheard passing on to his
team mate a fortuitist tip, “Keep your car on the track and you should finish well”.

Mazdarati takes advantage of EliteAti as he can not avoid a spinning Starbert.

The Blue Flagger team mates make the cardinal sin of taking each other out early in the race.

Black, Weefelly and Weaver all drifting through T2, unsuccessfully I might add.

Mazdarati almost blowing the win by missing his pit box and ending up in the garage.

Mazdarati the first car of 7 to cross the finish line for final time.

It didn’t take long for the drivers to make mistakes. Startbert was first to make contact as he touched his right front with Knistling’s left
rear, send both cars spinning ending up in the gravel. Both cars managed to work their way back onto the track and continue.
It was not only the cars at the back of the field that were having a tough time keeping all 4 tires on the racing surface. Up at the front,
Black had started 3rd right behind Mazdarati. He had difficulty keeping his car on the racing line in the first few turns and quickly dropped
to 6th. A couple of turns later he got his left side tires onto the grass and ended up buried in the gravel. Not wanting to end his race this
early he spend the better part of a lap working his car back to the track. By the time he got back on the racing surface he was 1 lap down
with a lot of work to do. If things weren’t bad enough before he could even get back up to speed, he encountered Starbert sitting sideways
in the middle of the track. While he managed to miss the parked car, the maneuver required another trip through the gravel, although
this time with much less time wasted.

Duck Tape also had his 1st lap woes. Entering the chicane for the first time he ran wide and punched a hole through the tire barrier.
Amazingly enough he came out of the shunt without any major damage and continued chasing Mazdarati for 2nd. It was not long before
he found the grass again, this time near the same spot 2 laps later. While not damaging his car, the off track excursions had dropped
him behind his team mate Weaver (7th)

By lap 5 Hans, after having his Blue Flag team mate send him of the track, decided he had enough and encouraged his partner to do
the same.

Weaver, having show great qualifying pace appeared to be scared of the track by his team mate, as he took to the gravel just as
Duck Tape was gaining on him. As Black had done earlier, Weaver did not give up, but eventually worked his way back onto the track,
albeit in 13th place.

Duct Tape pressed on, unfortunately, hardly a lap going by without at least one wheel getting of the racing surface, a practice that would
eventually get the best of him.

Up at the front, EliteAti and Mazdarati had begun to pull away from the rest of the field. With all of the off track driving that had been
occurring in the first 5 laps, it was only a matter of time before one of them would have an impact in the race. Sure enough, leader
EliteAti came upon a back marker and was unable to avoid the parked car. By the time he got around the stationary car, Mazdarati
had seized the opportunity to jump into the lead. Kelly also got collected up in the same incident and found the wall sustaining a lot
of damage and decided to retire.

Needless to say all this occurred before the race was only 6 laps old, barely 10% of the race distance. Before the race was even at
half distance almost half the field had retired with only 9 drivers left running. The rest of the race had a whole season’s worth of shunts,
mostly self induced.

The 2nd half of the race was much more controlled. The BWR team eventually were the only two to go out in the 2nd half leaving 7
cars to take the checkered flag.

Tortoise and Hare Racing split their race strategy with Daniel taking the popular one stop plan and Mazdarati the more ambitious 2
stop approach. EliteAti recovered from his early misfortune with the back marker and had the lead in the final stages of the race but
made a critical mistake with only 14 laps to go, relinquishing the lead to Mazdarati. After the race EliteAti complained of a bad 2nd set
of tires for his closing lap woes.

Xnlye, quietly driving a near perfect race, managed to stay out of any trouble and took a well deserved 3rd. Mazdarati captured the
win with EliteAti on the 2nd step of the podium. With only 7 finishers ironically almost half of the drivers that finished were on the podium.
Daniel, happy with the advise Mazdarati had given him about staying on the track, took 4th even though there were many faster cars in
the race, most of them did see the final lap.

Have a good summer vacation! For those of you that have no vacation or are not leaving home join us for the summer rally season.

Otherwise see you next race with S2 at Fern Bay Green.
