I think you can join every race apart from the events which take place at the Rockingham track.

To join you just have to join the server on time. You can find the password for the server below this chatbox.

Good luck!

Mazdarati Celebrates his 100th Victory at Absolute Beginners
youliftyoulose, Monday, October 01 2012 - 08:38:09 // comment: 2

The 4rh race with the BF1 in the F1 series took place at the Kyoto National course. 12 drivers were making their bid for the top 10
points paying spots. Newcomer Dalda edged out Mazdarati for the pole with a quick 1:17.53. With the top half of the field
qualifying within one second the race promised to be very competitive at the front. Could the small group of drivers make it
through the twisty T1 without incident?

Luca has a good look at Daniel's gearbox.

Luca works his way out of the gravel (it only took him 10 minutes)

Steve and Bandes do some wheel to wheel racing at 300 kph!

Mazdarati put a stamp on his 100th victory by crushing the almost the entire field!

Kelle, starting 9th, bogged his engine at the start and was quickly passed by Luca, Toberkel and Weaver.

Heading down into T1, Luca missed his braking point and got into the gearbox of Daniel. Daniel suffered a broken right rear suspension
and had to limp back to the pits for repairs. Luca, luckily, come out of the incident unscathed and continued to race on. His good fortune
would soon come to an end just a few short laps later.

Up at the front, Mazdarati, wanting to get his 100th win behind him, perhaps was a bit too cautious as both Bandes and Speed Senna
both passed him before the 1st lap was even half completed relegating him to 4th. Given the close lap times things would have to fall
his way for the victory to be his.

Meanwhile, Daniel, after nursing his broken car around to the pits, became confused with all of pit instructions to his crew and told them
not to change the tires or ad any fuel but forgot to tell them about the repairs to the rear suspension. As he left the pits only ½ a lap
down he realized his mistake and had to repeat the entire process one lap later. The foul up almost certainly sealed his fate as a last
place finisher as he rejoined the race lapped by the entire field.

Black (5th) was next to make a mistake as he caught a bit of the grass going through the sweeping S’s and spun his car. Although his
car was undamaged, he found himself at the back of the field with only Daniel behind him.

Kelle, who had shown great pace in practice, was eager to have a top finish, maybe even a podium. Unfortunately, he found the grass
on lap 2 and dropped to the back, except of course for Daniel. Several laps later, another of track excursion convinced him that he had
enough and decided to retire.

LRK-racer was also finding it hard to keep his car on the racing surface making numerous trips into the grass infield.

Everything came unraveled for Luca on lap 7 as he once again missed his braking point going into the final turn and subsequently found
the gravel. For the next several minutes, Luca valiantly tried to extricate his car from the trap eventually succeeding after more than 10
minutes had passed. Heading into the pits Luca decided that it was prudent to retire.

As expected, the real racing was happening at the front with the top 4 cars of Bandes, Dalda, Speed Senna and Mazdarati all covered by
less than 2 seconds. Mazdarati, not wanting to spend too much time in 4th got a great run on the top 3 going into lap 5 only to miss T1
and have a shunt through the gravel. Bandes continued to lead the race until lap 12 when he spun coming out of T1. As he re-entered
the track a surprised Steve came upon the former leader and was unable to avoid contact. Steve made a short trip through the gravel
and continued on. This left 3 cars at the front to battle it out for the podium spots. By lap 15, Mazdarati, took advantage of a Speed Senna
mistake and moved into 2nd. All he had to do is catch Dalda who was less than 4 seconds up the track.

Speed Senna found the gravel on lap 22 and joined Luca in the garage.

Dalda, Mazdarati and Black were the top 3 as the cars began to make pit stops for fuel. Dalda came on lap 25 giving Mazdarati the lead.
Mazdarati pitted a few laps later. By the time the pit stops had been sorted out a 7 second faster stop as well as some quick laps put
Mazdarati with a small but comfortable lead of just under 10 seconds.

The second half of the race was relative uneventful as the remaining cars were relatively spaced out. The only pass of significance came
on lap 31 as Black moved into 2nd in front of Dalda. With almost a third of the race to go, Black began to push hard. He would have liked
nothing better than have be the cause of his main rival having to wait another race to claim his 100th victory. Try as he might he could not
make any inroads in the 10+ second lead that Mazdarati had built for himself.

The final retirement came on lap 37 as Dalda, now in 3rd, came up behind a spinning Daniel just after T1. The two cars did not make
contact but Dalda got his car loose as he came out of chicane and ended up in the grass. Frustrated by what he thought might be a victory
he chose not to settle for 3rd and parked his car muttering something about Daniel blocking him for the 2nd time.

In the end Mazdarati took the victory and his 100th win in traditional fashion. While the 1st half of the race was challenging he ended up
lapping the entire field except for Black. Congratulations on being a true champion. Black did a great job to finish 2nd after a difficult start.
LRK-racer I believe gets his 1st podium ever with a 3rd place finish.

See you next race at Blackwood with the LX6.
