I think you can join every race apart from the events which take place at the Rockingham track.

To join you just have to join the server on time. You can find the password for the server below this chatbox.

Good luck!

Champion Strikes Back at South City
youliftyoulose, Wednesday, November 25 2015 - 09:13:19 // comment: 1

Race 2 of the 22nd season of the S2 series of Absolute Beginners race took place at South City Long in the reverse direction. All drivers were limited to the FXO for this race. A nice field of 23 drivers took to the track in an attempt to put their cars on pole. LRK-racer and Mazdarati were the only drivers to break into the 1:52's as LRK-racer took the pole with a 1:52.27.

LRK-racer leads the field through T1 for the first time.

As the red lights went out the cars raced towards T1 navigating the crooked straight as best they could. Everyone made it through the first corner with a minimal amount of contact except for one driver, Bingo Wings. A little nudge from GeneralPurpose was all he needed to miss the entry to T1. While not damaged he found himself pointing directly at the guardrail necessitating a quick reversal. The fast recovery unfortunately still left him at the back of the pack.

Bingo Wings gets shuffled to the back of the pack with a little help from his friends.

After a couple of laps the cars began to spread out nicely forming a long line around the tight city circuit.

At the start of lap 7 with 25% of the race completed not much had changed in the top 10. LRK-racer was setting a torrid pace as he had squeezed out a marginal lead of almost 4 seconds over Mazdarati.
What was going well for GRT was that Lambat was occupying P3. If he could finish on the podium the points were going to give his team a big boost in the constructors race.

As the pit window opened most of the drivers completed their stops without incident. 5k111 was not one of them, however, and was penalized for speeding in the pits. By the time the top 3 cars had stop and returned to racing the order remained the same with LRK-racer leading Mazdarati and team mate Lambat.

As the race wound down, Mazdarati began to make incremental cuts into the lead that LRK-racer had built up over the course of the race. Noticing that the orange car had picked up some damage at some point he was hoping that LRK-racer's pace might slow a bit. LRK-racer sensing that Mazdarati was making a push in the final laps he regained his original pace and restored his lead.

LRK-racer led the race from wire to wire and took the maximum points by also putting the fastest lap of the race. Mazdarati took P2 with the other GRT driver Lambat joining LRK-racer on the podium.

With the victory LRK-racer moved into a tie with Mazdarati in the race for the title with 76 points. Could the race be any closer?

LRK-racer makes a victory slide across the finish line.
