I think you can join every race apart from the events which take place at the Rockingham track. To join you just have to join the server on time. You can find the password for the server below this chatbox.
Good luck!

I do miss the virtual mirror though, since it got removed after a patch at some point. I've never driven a real car and haven't got a driverslicense, so I think that's why I don't like an in car view. On my bike I can see all I want and need, so I like that open view when driving on a computer Just for your information, I am useless at racing anyway and also use auto-gearbox, as it's too complicated for me to use throttle, break, steering and then have to switch gears as well. Hm, just with raw screenshot it would show wrong, I edited it a bit: The grey bar is supposed to show the space between screens. In LFS there are options to set how wide the screen edges are and which angle they are positioned. (But unless one has the same setup and sits in same spot, it will still bit look strange/warped in pictures.) mirrors & dashboard: real wheel & hand: visible Move with animation: no view moved by g-forces: not sure about numbers, so that it bops around a bit :-d button look: 80° and instantly

Because it's not realistic at all: Imagine you're sitting in your car and put a 24 or 27 inch screen right there, where it would be if you were sitting in front of your pc. It would be 50 to 60 cm in front of you right where the windscreen is and the fov on that screen would be like 20 or 30 degrees. with a two sceen setup it would be maybe 70 and come close to what is needed, but then there would be no dashboard, no mirrors, just a bit of hood and the street in front on that screens. THAT would be halfway realistic. Thats the problem with all overglorified hardcore sim games that force you to use in car view because it is realistic, it is not, the angles don't match, and its impossible for me to measure distances and speed that way. Another problem is overview, normaly you sit very low in the car but as the screen has only 1200 vertical lines that's not enough resolution for displaying things right in the distance which is again important to measure them. Especially with all that aliasing stuff still going on in lfs it's even worse. So I had to elevate the view a bit and as I only have one screen I came up with this compromise: <div class='spacer'></div> <div class='spacer'></div>

This is also why I always drive with open roof. edit:Please resize the pictures to 640 width. [ Edited Mon Jun 30 2014, 10:21am ]

When watching some of last year's replay, in F12 menu I noticed that you are one of very few driver to use chase view. I can't really drive in chase view with wheel because I can't feel what's going on with my car (even in simple arcade racing), kinda not connected. Chaseview drivers in LFS are kinda special for me, that's why I mention you

Want to see the whole environment and therefor use chaseview. I do miss the virtual mirror though, certainly when being in a close fight. But as said before, I am a below average driver. Only track+car I "mastered" is the XFG on BL1 as that's where I have been driving most of my LFS career.
